Jay Melnick represents clients in a wide variety of corporate and real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, mortgage and mezzanine financing, loan restructuring and workouts and commercial leasing. Mr. Melnick has represented major lending institutions, REITs, private equity and other investment funds and 501(c)(3) corporations and has experience in structuring, negotiating and documenting conduit and portfolio loans, tax-exempt, credit-enhanced bond issues and corporate, real estate and debt acquisitions and dispositions.
Admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, Mr. Melnick received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he double-majored in English and Spanish and graduated with Highest Honors.
Mr. Melnick is a member of the Chicago Bar and the Illinois State Bar Associations.
